The XX Play Guggenheim in NYC and talk new album.

Nov 07, 2014 -- 3:38pm

A couple of nights ago The XX played a gig at New Yorks Guggenheim (yeah, the one designed by Frank Lloyd Wright). They have been working on the follow up to 2012's "Coexist" in Texas and Iceland. Check out some footage from the show.

Help Save R.E.M.'s Church

Nov 04, 2014 -- 2:00pm

OK...so it's not really R.E.M.'s chuch...but it is where the band played their first show many many many MANY years ago in 1980. R.E.M., The B-52's, The Drive By Truckers and other Athens musicians are rallying together to help save the steeple of the chuch were the first gig was played. Click on the photo to see how you can help and even get one of the bricks from the original chuch.

Where did The Flight Test go?

Nov 04, 2014 -- 11:46am

Hey,

Mase here. A few people have asked me "hey Mase...why isn't The Flight Test on Monday nights anymore?". I've been doing the show for a little over 10 years and to be honest...I just needed a break from it. You wouldn't believe the stacks and stacks of CD's that I get every week from bands I've heard of and even more from bands that I haven't heard of before. It take a lot of time and work to go through them all and pick out the best stuff.

That being said, I do miss doing the show and there is a really good chance I'll bring it back to life after the new year. In the meantime I'll be posting videos, links, blogs and everything indie right here. So check back every couple of days or so and you'll find all sorts of new tasty jams.

Thanks for all the years of listening and hearing the stuff your friends will be listening to 6 months from now.

Flight Test Is In A Holding Pattern

Sep 18, 2014 -- 12:21pm

For anyone curious about where The Flight Test has been for the last few weeks. I've just left it circling the airfield for awhile. Not sure wether it will run out of gas, stall and crash into the ocean or if I'll get back under control and land it safely. Onlly time will tell. Thanks for the many years of listening and hopfully it will be back up and running soon.

In the meantime don't forget to check out The KZQ New Music Bonanza with Crash Monday - Friday at 11pm.
