Founding Member of Let's Active has passed.

I might be showing my age a little bit by talking about the 80's band Let's Active...but they were one of the great ones. I'm sad to say their original bassist Faye Hunter was found dead over the weekend of an apparent suicide. From what I have heard and read she had been unhappy for quit some time and had been strugling with financial and personal problems.

If you don't know who they are...LOOK UP LET'S ACTIVE!!! Their singer/guitarist not only fronted the band, but also owned a studio in Winston Salem, NC and worked with such bands as, Ben Folds Five, Pavement and produced the 1 EP and 2 albums for a little Athens, Ga band called R.E.M.

Let's Active released 3 albums and 1 EP, but influenced a number of "gangle-pop" bands of the 80's and 90's. Faye appeard on their '83 EP "Afoot" and the '84 album "Cypress" that brought the college rock hits "Every Word Means No" and "Blue Line".

Below are a couple of videos to give you an idea what you might have missed by not knowing Let's Active. One of the videos is from an old MTV show called I.R.S.'s The Cutting Edge. The other is the video for "Every Word Means No". I hope you dig it and R.I.P. Faye Hunter.
